As stated in the name itself, assembly studies consider all the stages of the design of a component or machine, evaluating the overall layout and the final result in terms of design, manufacture and assembly. This type of activity consists in applying a bird’s eye view to a system, with the objective of identifying function groups and give them a modular structure. The application of modular management allows us to effectively understand the possible functional, structural, and other, variables, in order to achieve maximum efficiency.
Assembly studies entail the reconstruction in a 2/3 dimensional CAD format, identification through balloons of the various parts and the creation of a “Bill of components” with the identification of the single parts noted on an exploded view. This yields the bird’s the view, essential towards functional module structuring of the groups.
